Dad's Army

Originally brought to the TV screen in 1968, the series ran for 80 episodes all the way to November 1977. There has also been a radio version and feature films as well as a brand-new TV series based on some "lost" episodes and even an animated version! So, the Dad's Army legacy goes from strength to strength.

The episodes presented were:

The Deadly Attachment (S6, Epl) The platoon have to guard a captured U-Boat Captain and his crew, but fearless Captain Mainwaring incurs German displeasure when he orders the defiant prisoners be served soggy fish and chips!

Mum's Army (S4, Ep9) The Home Guard are recruiting women but as Mrs Mainwaring "hasn't left the house since Munich" she won't be joining her husband's platoon. So when newcomer Mrs Gray enlists, Captain Mainwaring is set for a brief encounter.

The Godiva Affair (S7, Ep4) As the town is short of the sum it requires for the purchase of a Spitfire, the platoon decide to drum up support by performing a Morris dance at the fund-raising carnival. It is the identity of the Lady Godiva figure, however, that ends up grabbing most people's attention.
